What is WaterScope®?
WaterScope is Metron’s cloud-based software which analyzes and presents water consumption data captured from Metron’s meters or third-party meters with Metron registers.
How do I access WaterScope?
WaterScope is accessed through any web browser such as Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox.
What meters can I see in WaterScope?
Water utilities can see every Metron meter in their system. Property owners, such as companies operating multiple mobile home parks or apartment complexes, can see all the Metron meters in all of their properties, organized by property. Property managers, such as an MHP park manager, can see all the Metron meters for their particular park. Finally, individual consumers, whether customers of a utility company or residents in a park, can see their own meter’s water consumption.
Can WaterScope show consumption data from non-Metron meters?
Yes, in many cases it’s possible to import data from third-party software platforms so you can see all your meters in one place.
When does water consumption data appear in WaterScope?
At some time in the small hours of the morning, each register transmits data over the cellular network. This data, which covers midnight to midnight, appears in WaterScope immediately after the transmission. This means that when you sit down at your desk in the morning, you can look at the water consumption data for all your meters, up until midnight of the night before.
Does WaterScope send leak alerts?
Yes. If a register detects a leak, it will send a transmission immediately (if configured to do so). WaterScope will then send a text message indicating that a leak has been detected.
Does WaterScope provide reads for billing?
Yes, absolutely. Whether you’re a utility or a residential manager, current reads can be exported from WaterScope in a format that suits your billing software.
What are some things to look for in WaterScope?
If you’re a utility, look for meters that are showing a high flow rate over the last 24 hours, which could indicate leaks; look for meters that show usage even when they’re cut off, indicating unauthorized use; look for customers who are flouting irrigation restrictions; look for meters that failed to connect with the cellular network and might need servicing. If you’re a park manager, look for leaks in homes; look for meters that are at risk of freezing; look for leaks in distribution pipes.
Are there multiple versions of WaterScope?
Yes. WaterScope Pro is Metron’s mature product, which is ideal for utility companies. WaterScope PLUS is a new product incorporating new analysis technologies and a modern user experience. It has variants such as WaterScope MHP for mobile home parks and WaterScope Property for apartment complexes and commercial buildings. In addition, WaterScope Field App is a mobile app designed for field service teams.
