The Spectrum Jet single-jet meter is the widest ranged, single measuring element meter available to U.S. utilities. The operation of the single jet element allows the meter to be applied in the vast majority of potable cold water, reclaim water and well applications.
How do smart water meters work?
Metron’s water meters are equipped with Prism Registers (also known as “monitors”) which capture water usage data every minute, storing over 1,400 readings per day. These registers send the data every night to the cellular network, where it is routed into Metron’s cloud-based WaterScope® database. The WaterScope system then analyzes the data, and users can access the data any time by logging into their account.
The one-minute water usage data allows WaterScope to recognize many types of water events, such as showers, toilet flushes, lawn irrigation, and more. It provides breakdowns of where the water was used and whether there were significant losses due to leaks. Not only does this system simplify the collection of data and the billing process, but it also provides detailed insights into water usage patterns.
